Welcome

I don’t know about you, but for me there’s nothing like a good puzzle to start me percolating. Puzzling things are the spice of life, if one has a positive outlook. They keep your thinker thinking and they can turn your imagination loose. Next best thing to reading a good mystery, in my mind!

After puzzling about politics in some situations, I came up with two or three solutions that I would like to share here. Beyond that, in the near future I plan for Puzzling Things to be a place where you and I can interact and where I can have the fun of hearing your solutions too! And if all goes well, maybe we can find ways to test them and put some of them in motion. I would like to start a website to do that someday if there’s enough interest.

We need solutions, not blame. Blame solves nothing, in the end, though discovering what went wrong can help us figure out how to do things better the next time around. It’s too easy to point a finger and a little bit harder to realize that it’s not just so-and-so who may have a problem, I may also be a part of the problem, and someone else might be, too.

It’s seldom only one thing or one person at fault. Sometimes it might even be that a system we’ve long depended on is outdated and doesn’t work for the world we live in today. Sometimes it’s how we function as a group that can cause certain problems, and it may not necessarily be the individuals we’ve picked out as being “the problem”.

None of us can have all the answers for anyone else. It might take you and me and Jim and Marie and whoever else to come up with the best solutions for what ails us all.

Help me come up with some useful ideas that can make a difference in the world we share!
